PLAZA DE ARMAS, LA SERENA
The Plaza de Armas is one of the most iconic attractions in the city. It was in that place where Francisco de Aguirre, by order of Pedro Valdivia, refounded the city of San Bartolomé de la Serena on 26 August 1549. It is surrounded by Los Carrera streets to the east, Arturo Prat to the north, Matta to the west and Gregorio Cordovez to the south.

ENJOY COQUIMBO
Enjoy Coquimbo is a Chilean casino, located in the Peñuelas sector in the commune of Coquimbo, in the region of the same name. The origins of the current Casino Enjoy Coquimbo are found in the Casino de Peñuelas, which was planned by the members of the Rotary Club of La Serena and Coquimbo. JAPANESE GARDEN PARK

ANDACOLLO RELIGIOUS FESTIVAL
One of the most characteristic folkloric expressions of the central-north zone is the festival of the Virgin of Andacollo, one of the oldest and most massive religious celebrations in Chile. The so-called Big Party, in honor of the Virgen del Rosario, takes place from the 23 al 27 December in Andacollo. During those three days the town is filled with colors, dances and music by the numerous brotherhoods and dance groups, whose main function is to form the race of honor and escort the holy image during the solemn procession. What's more, it is possible to appreciate the Chinese Dances, declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. Andacollo can be accessed by bus from the city of La Serena.
